So a tentative rec for A Different Kraken on AH.com. ![]() ![]() Rated: Fiction M - English - Drama/Family - Robb S. It's pretty interesting, the SI doesn't know about the setting, but he's placed into Edmure Tully's body about a year before the start of GoT and sets about changing things.Ī rebellion in ten acts, or How Myrcella proved herself a Baratheon despite her blood. Worth the read.Ī Connecticut Yankee In King Robert's Court It's a great idea for a AU divergence, in my opinion, but I'm just waiting for the War of Five Kings to start with Jon as one of Robb's bannerman however the latest chapters make me think that this might be headed in a completely different direction. Recommended by GiantMonkeyMan & templar627.īasically Jon Snow manages to pursuade Cat that the best way to get him out of Winterfell would be to squire him to her brother. This brings on new adversities for him, as well as the chance for a better fate for the Starks.Ĭontains spoilers through the entire series, but most happen away from the written story. I don't think everything in here is realistic (certainly not starting in 283) but there's plenty of things which would work mixed in with the questionable ideas.īeginning two years before A Game of Thrones, Jon Snow is spurred in a different direction. So how do we overcome these problems…ideally, before winter comes? Of all of the regions of Westeros we’ve planned for, the North is perhaps the most difficult case we’ve deal with, next to Dorne (which had a much better export profile).Īs the Lord of Winterfell, my main difficulties are that the North is severely underpopulated, and has extreme weather conditions that exacerbate the northerly climate’s limits on agricultural productivity. You know, there's wayyy too much grimdark in this setting. What if Game of Thrones was a Romantic Comedy? Here's the trailer. So if you find anything funny while browsing this thread, by all means point it to me and I'll deal with whatever comes up as soon as possible (or ask the staff to handle it if I no longer can or whatever is suitable). In a different note and citing my own comments in the opening post of the thread I am mirroring here, I've only read a very small fraction of all this stuff and some of the stories listed below may contain NSFW content that is not properly labeled and so on. Still, it is a resource that some people find useful and which I think may be of interest to the people here. Now, the qualities that make something worth recommending are very much in the eye of the beholder, so there is plenty of stuff in here that I haven't read at all, plenty of stuff that I wouldn't recommend if I had read it and probably some stuff that shouldn't be there, in spite of my best efforts to filter the chaff. For the better part of a decade now, I have been collecting the fanfiction recommendation made in various venues across the web (mainly the creative sections of SB.com), making list of links with those and I have been left with a mildly titanic thread of recs that I call the Big List, which at this point includes several thousand works.
